Wiggins and Jimmy both rocking a fro would be pretty cool, and it clearly wasn't negatively effecting his shooting. Also I'm sure this is a combination of Small Sample Size and quality of opponents but the Wolves have been so much more fun to watch with Tyus starting at point.

Lockback posted:Tyus gives you a worse scoring-headwind than Ricky does for the PG position (with a 10% usage!), so there's a little bit of a "What he brings to the table is fun, but he is a taking a lot off" going on vs Teague though. This is going straight over my head, can you dumb it down for me? I will say that as much as I love and defend Ricky, it's nice having a PG that can hit the three (38.8%!) when the defense collapses. And with Towns/Butler/Wiggins on the floor you don't really need a PG that has a high usage.

My favorite part about the Lakers pick is that it had super tiny protections because the Lakers were obviously gonna Lakers and just have it convey immediately but then everything fell apart.

Lockback posted:Bjelica -> Mirotic is a pretty good upgrade in shooting and general ability to play basketball. Even if their %s are similar, Mirotic shoots more than 50% more 3ps per possession than Bjelica does, that would make a huge difference for the Wolves. Mirotic is also 3 years younger. Would he still get those same shots with the wolves though? I'm not so certain. And yeah, he'd be coming off the bench and getting fewer minutes for sure.

Lockback posted:While they are not great at keeping the opponent eFG% low, they've made up for it by being one of the best in the league at keeping teams off the line. I haven't seen anyone mention this and it kind of shocks me: The Wolves are the fifth best team at not turning the ball over and the #1 team in the league at forcing them (and if you use TOV% they're second on offense and third on defense.). When you're getting more possessions per game it doesn't matter as much if your opponent is shooting slightly better. I'm not sure how to check that stuff for the last X games but in December they were first by a mile (+4.5 with the #2 team being at +2.9)
