Like the Berenstain bears it's one of those things that got filled in wrong in the brain and there was never any reason to re-examine it so the delusion persisted Even now I struggle not to see the right side as a city but the rear end-view of the ship is dead at least

I can't even make out where I saw the ship before. Edit: I can see it on the thumbnail.

I can still see the ship instead of the hand when I focus on the right-hand side of the picture.

Really struggling to see a ship.. I guess when I squint and move really far from the screen I can see it. But then again it might be as well a potato.

I realized this a while back, and now that I know it's a hand I can't for the life of me make it look like a ship again no matter how much I squint, to the point where I wonder how I ever got it wrong

I've finally took the plunge and bought Stellaris, along with the majority of the DLC. Now that I've sunk a few dozen hours into the game as practice runs, the next step is to do an achievement run, but ideally, I'd like some QoL mods that make managing my space rock corp empire a little easier. What achievement-friendly mods do you fine people suggest that I start with? Edit: If there's already suggestions in this thread, please point them to me if possible - there's 1280 pages, and I don't know if I have the fortitude to go through them all.

What achievement-friendly mods do you fine people suggest that I start with? TinyOutliner is basically a MUST. The outliner is like, 4x as big as it needs to be in vanilla, for no goddamn reason. It makes taking care of a bigger empire even more of a pain than it already is.

I don't have an exhaustive list but Tiny Outline and Tiny Fleets should be achievement neutral and are pretty much essential for me.

Just tried the Tiny Outliner mod and, oh my god, this has made things so much more bearable already - everything feels much less clustered now. Thanks! Any other suggestions would be fantastic - I've picked up the Pinwheel Galaxy mod since it's achievement-friendly and makes the galaxy look much prettier.

just lost a game because my economy went into a death spiral and by the time I figured out why (all my workers had promoted into specialists and apparently it takes several years to demote one or two of them) the game was pretty much over. what the gently caress? how can I stop this from happening. surely planet tiles were better than this stupid poo poo I was never notified about and can't control.

Don't build buildings until you've filled up your districts! And then, don't build two buildings at once - make or upgrade buildings only once the planet is almost out of jobs Building too many buildings or building them too soon kills your basic resource income

Pops automatically promote to the highest available job they can legally work. The only way to prevent this from happening is to never prebuild buildings with specialist job slots if you still care about raw resource production.

Unironically, planet tiles were better. Because this system hands pop control to the AI, and this game's AI has no loving idea what it's doing.

If upward social mobility required something more than just a job opening and wasn't instant, then the system might actually work both mechanically and thematically (although it would add its own share of issues). Instant upward social mobility but a decade-long downward one just creates a broken mess that can in a very unrealistic way completely destroy an empire in very short order.

That also adds nothing truly relevant to the game, imho. Yes, you can technically manipulate your political strati to get more stability but it's usually only a few percentage points. That and the ones that you don't want to piss off, Specialists and Rulers, usually get bonuses big enough that you have to TRY to piss them off while Workers barely matter.

Strata. Yes I know it doesn't matter but sticking -i on everything to pluralize it is annoying enough when you don't do it to actual latin words. Also I thought it was a ship too, and now have no idea what the right side of the picture is supposed to be. Maybe it IS a city, and the hand belongs to a giant robot...

I've posted before about arguable theoretical gameplay or performance benefits, but it really seems to be mainly because the developers couldn't imagine a society where the elites aren't constantly making GBS threads on "unskilled labour" outside of a literally post scarcity society. Shared Burdens only exists because a previous iteration of this thread got pissy at Wiz directly and it still requires egalitarian ethics. e: removed some ranting Splicer fucked around with this message at 11:24 on Mar 9, 2021 |
