Thanks, I think I would be handling it better if it were my own fault being a dumbass falling on my head or something, but being hit by a drunk driver makes it harder to deal with I think. You hear about it happening to other people but never consider it happening to you, and when it does it's kinda hard to accept it. tetrapyloctomy posted:MRI results correlate very poorly with actual symptoms. Still too early to tell, my physical therapist said my pain could still be muscle and tendon related, and that some people with herniations are asymptomatic with no pain at all. So now it's just a wait and see, I'm hoping the pain I'm having now isn't because of the discs being hosed up and just muscle aches but I'll find out in time i guess. Just made all of the starches. Chicken piccata served over buttered pasta, 5 cheese garlic bread, scalloped potatoes. And a bit of spinach on the side. ....what? All I had to eat all night was a salad. Don't judge me. I allow myself one or two meals like this a month, the rest at least try to be somewhat healthy - and I'm going hiking this afternoon to help burn some of this off. Tremek, I'm so sorry about your good doggo. Royal, that sucks, well, royally. Applebees, uh, same. I can't really come up with words for all of that. Humphreys posted:I got diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes? Depending how far along it is, and your weight/activity, it can be controlled with diet and exercise. Sometimes with the addition of meds. It's not the death knell that it used to be so long as you pay attention to what you eat (and monitor your sugar). Source: I was diagnosed 7 or 8 years ago. My health today is the best it's been in 15+ years. My blood pressure is the lowest it's been in ages, my A1c was 5.5 (essentially non-diabetic, but that's with meds) a few weeks ago, my cholesterol (aside from triglycerides, but they're not that far above normal) is good, and I'm actually semi active (mostly at work, but I've been hiking a bit on days off). I've been pulled off one of two diabetes medications, and my main blood pressure medication has been dropped to the lowest dose (my dr wants to keep me on it because it helps protect the kidneys). 5 years ago, my (former, he's 200 miles away now) doctor told me I was in stage 3 kidney failure, and my liver wasn't too far behind. Really lit a fire under my rear end to change my habits. I had dropped significant weight, and my A1c was decent (not great, but decent), but my cholesterol was still through the roof. My current doctor saw the bloodwork from then and can't believe it was mine. randomidiot fucked around with this message at 16:16 on Jul 31, 2019 |

I'm in this weird spot where I'm torn between trying to build up excitement over anything for myself, or just letting go and keeping my head down. Turned 39 today. Absolutely no plans, even if kids are going to in-laws for the night. Wife is just extremely pregnant and over tired. Speaking of, baby #4 due in 1.5 weeks. Attempting to buy larger house. Largely healthy and happy, but some stomach troubles and a recurring skin thing over the past few days is aggravating/sapping my excitement. I got nothing.

I'm at the point with my auto insurance where I may need to/choose to invoke the appraisal clause in my policy for the Mercedes, as the CCC report they're coming back with is not reflecting the value I think it ought to, big surprise there right? What's the best place to buy a car battery these days? Costco? My NA Miata needs a new one and I don't want to spend a ton of money and had a ridiculous experience the last time I went to Autozone for a battery.

I haven’t bought one in a few months but at least spend 5 minutes looking for an Advance coupon I’ve scored some batteries for like $80 with them. Japanese cars sitting for months at port then 2 months on boat can kill some weak batteries.

Just got a new battery for the Crown Vic from Wal-Mart. got the Ever-Start Maxx 850 CCA for $94. They were the only one's handy that had a group 65 battery for less than $100 - and that was the most expensive option. If I'd wanted to be super-cheap, they had a 1-year 650 CCA battery for $50. I don't have a Costco membership, nor one located closer than about 30 minutes drive. Dallas Goons: Hot Wheels car show in Grand Prairie this Saturday: https://hotwheels.mattel.com/explore/HW_50th/en/legends-tour This is the rescheduled event for the one that got canceled due to massive thunderstorm back in... April? I think. Hoping to see some unique stuff, since that's what Mattel is looking for. I mean check out the winners from the previous events on that page.

Buy all our Auto batteries through Costco to score on that sweet sweet executive cash back program. Like everdave already mentioned cars commonly arrive from Japan with trashed batteries so we buy a ton.

I despise Wal-Mart, but I have to admit that they were the only place I found within a ~10 mile radius that had two big rear end H8 batteries in stock and ready to go for my 840Ci when the batteries went tits up on my way to work a few years back. The price was better than all of the other stores around (who only had one in stock, if any at all) also. I swear there's someone on Wal-Mart's purchasing team who maintains a stupid old BMW, because they are consistently the only place I can find the 5qt jugs of Mobil 1 15W-50 oil also. Even the dedicated auto parts stores around here don't have it, not even in the 1 quart bottles.

Costco, unless you need a memory saver (some Mercs, BMWs, and a few others) then go to Advance. Costco doesn't install them, if that matters for anyone.
