Happy New Thread! The Dinette Set is a hate letter to middle class white suburbia ny Julie Larson. It focuses on the families of two sisters (the Pennys and the Darwins), who are generally very terrible and have that confident ignorance that comes with being medicore white people. Working Daze is a well-loathed thread "favorite". It's theoretically a workplace comedy strip, but author John Zakour and artist Scott Roberts are pretty incapable of making jokes beyond lazy nerd references, referencing other strips, and "CHARACTER has CHARACTERISTIC" gags. Oh, and several of the characters have cosmic powers for some reason and have been known to turn their "friends" into inanimate objects. Super-Fun-Pak Comix is by Ruben Boling, and started on his Tom the Dancing Bug webcomic as a parody of newspaper comic pages. It's currently in repeats and has been ghost written by person or persons unknown. Recurring characters include a quantum weather butterfly, the world's dumbest time traveler, and the ghost of James Caan. Cul De Sac is by the late Richard Thompson, who passed away in 2016. Cul De Sac is the polar opposite of things like Foob and Dustin: the story of a loving suburban family (the Otterloops). The main characters are Alice (a slight hyperactive four year old) and her older brother Petey (a bit neurotic, very bookish, a world-class picky eater, and one of his friends may or may not be imaginary).

The Dinette Set gives away the game. Working Daze has zero jokes, "two punchlines". Super-Fun-Pak Comix explores the duality of man. Cul De Sac gets the new year off to a great start.

The Dinette Set stays loyal. Working Daze remembers it has a character that's a medusa. And yes, she turns people into stone. Super-Fun-Pak Comix is an implied threat. Cul De Sac loves special features.

The Dinette Set doesn't get its money worth. Working Daze is...I honestly have no idea. Super-Fun-Pak Comix changes gears. Cul De Sac learns a fundamental truth.

The Dinette Set gets revenge. Working Daze needs to learn that "always has a plastic water bottle" is not a loving character trait. Super-Fun-Pak Comix is a cultural divide. Cul De Sac gives some advice.

The Dinette Set is missing the fundamental point. Working Daze is up to date, unlike some posters' version. Super-Fun-Pak Comix still hasn't updated since Friday. I hope it's not just stopping. Cul De Sac realizes its destiny.

The Dinette Set brings in a ringer. Working Daze is guest written by Charles Boyce. I found this WD amusing, only because of the timing of people talking about how the older jokes are better than the current comic and yet this one dates back to the start of home computing and is still utterly unfunny. Super-Fun-Pak Comix still hasn't updated. I think I might have to find a replacement... Cul De Sac is doing it, the absolute mad lad!

In any other story, a parent being worried about their kid practicing safe sex wouldn't be weird. But given how this is a) mama's boy Gunther being confronted by b) Gunther's mom, who c) looks exactly like Gunther, in this d) comic strip where every character is mentally a loving high school freshman, it's pretty creepy.

Well, looks like Super-Fun-Pak Comic has stopped posting, which stinks because I actually liked it even though it was in repeats. Farewell Percival Dunwoody, The Ghost of James Caan, Quantum Weather Butterly, Doug, Dinkle the Unlovable loser, and all the other regular and irregular characters. You were enjoyed. The Dinette Set stimulates the economy. Working Daze is leaning hard on the ancient computer jokes. Cul De Sac is a true inspiration for the children.

If this Luann storyline ends with Gunther admitting he didn't like being broadcast without his permission (yet didn't say anything at the time) and blaming Bets for some drat thing, I'm going to be pissed. I'm comforted by the fact that Luann storylines don't end, they just stop in the middle.
