If it was in fact the case in 2013 then it's definitely not the case now. They had them in Factions but conveniently in my region and some others they removed violent dismemberment from just factions so I'd lean more to the former.

lets hang out posted:50% of the times I grabbed someone in mgs3 I leaned too hard on the button and immediately slit their throats MGS2/3 and RedDead2 are good gun safety PSA, shot so many people/dogs in RDR2 by pressing the wrong button.

The missing people are probably all clumping together in big underground piles or something, TLOU3 should have giant fungus fruiting bodies erupting out of the ground as the fungus grows into a huge network.
