This is the first time in close to a decade since I had anything close to expectations coming into a season and it scares me. Even the good Buck teams of like, 2014 didn't make me feel like "oh yeah, this is the year." I can't wait to get swept by the Angels instead!

I mean hell they barely support any of the other versions of the app either :v:

Not sure if this is a hot take but I hate the whole home run celebration props thing. I thought the home run chain the O's had a few seasons ago was kinda cool, the 'home run hose' was like okay at least they're getting some water i bet they're thirsty, now they have the "home run handlebars" where they have a set of motorcycle handlebars and vroom vroom around the dugout and it's just so lame. I think the more elaborate the prop is and the more forced it seems the worse it is.

It'll be real funny when we get Angel Hernandez arguing against robo umps that have like 98.9% accuracy.

Looks like a lovely Mariners BP jersey. Uniforms should not immediately evoke a completely different franchise. Reminds me of the Rangers City Connects, which I always think are the Twins.

Yeah this is where I'm at with it too. Baltimore's was sorta :effort: but it at least didn't immediately make me think "this looks like another team's jersey"

For some reason I thought Baltimore's City Connect was Old Bay-themed and I had to check what it actually was and while it is 'fine' I am bummed that it isn't Old Bay (with a Natty Boh dude on the cap).

Yeah the hat bummed me out. I wanted a cool new hat but a plain black hat with a cursive B on it is just too bland for me to consider dropping close to $50 on one.

Goddamn I hate the MLB app widgets on android. This game is tomorrow at 2:10PM. This poo poo has been like this for years and has tricked me into thinking a game was today so many times it's crazy.

Now that Holliday finally got his first single, I wonder how much longer the Orioles will give him before sending him down. 1 for 15 with nine strikeouts is a rough start. Not that I am faulting him he is only 20 but I think now that he has seen MLB pitching you have him go down to AAA and work out some things. Or ideally now that he got his first hit he relaxes and goes on a tear. But I am not sure how much longer you can give him if it continues to be blah.

It does feel like he's not quite there yet but also way too good for AAA. I could see them keeping him around for another series to see if he shows improvement after his first hit. He clearly has talent but he feels way greener than Adley or Henderson did for their debuts. Doesn't help that he looks like a child out there.

How does that in any way stop them from challenging a call? It's not like the guard's so massive he completely obscures the manager while he's doing the international sign for "i am challenging this call". Did he really have to grab the dude and shove him out of the way?

you have a really short amount of time to challenge a play and the security guard walked between him and the coach checking with their review guy so he couldn't see the signal, which caused him to run out of time

I was trying to listen to the O's game on mlb.tv radio on my way home yesterday and kept getting that thing where the feed would stop with an error and I have to switch feeds then switch back for it to start again. Turned out streaming the goddamn video feed and listening to that worked better and more consistently. It's wild how awful that service is and how long that app has been trash.

Also when I was in little league I didn't know a drat thing about MLB or popular players other than probably Cal Jr. nor did I really care to learn them or even watch baseball. I got into watching the sport later in life. A lot of those kids are probably there because their parents made them go
