Haha what the gently caress does he think a mayor would be able to do about that anyway? You can't take away womens' reproductive rights with a council bylaw.

No abortions within Auckland city limits, I guess? At the rate Auckland is expanding, it will consume the entire country soon anyway, so conquer Auckland and then play the waiting game or something.

I feel really good that I spent time reading candidates' goals and profiles, but on the other hand I feel a little bad that when I got to preferentially electing the Auckland District Health Board I just went "okay I'm done voting the night" and gave up.

These anti-flouride people do know that to get an even close to toxic dose of it you'd have to drink water constantly for something like a week straight without stopping for anything. You'd die from water poisoning before you could ever ingest enough flouride. Are these people also against iodized salt?

Despite pointing this out and a whole bunch of other half-truths and outright lies these people appeared to never question themselves for a second. Their views tend not to be reasoned into them so it can be pretty loving impossible to reason them out.

Actually, that reminds me. Has anyone taken the route down by the waterfront that heads east to Saint Heliers in Auck? There's this Maori fella who, every morning about 7:30-50ish, has a new billboard proclaiming some other kind of conspiracy theory or thing. He's done this for two years, I think. What's his story, is he one of the homeless?

Tamaki Drive? Yep, and I don't give enough of a poo poo to read it because too many people trying to causes the traffic to back off at that point. On the odd time I have seen it it's something about Facebook and the FBI. Take from that what you will.

Re Bryce Edwards's article poking a stick at local elections, He does have a good point about lower turnout providing opportunities for 'eccentric' candidates Good example is the ALCP guy running for Otago DHB with ALCP under his name as a ticket who I reckon has a running chance lol. One identifiable and popular policy (cannibinoid medicines) on the voting paper itself, no booklets or anything required
