Overkill is legitimately the best combat skill because it can score you multi-kills on deathwish with the loco, and completely clear out rooms with the Saiga. Mix it with Aced Shotgun Impact and Basic Shotgun CQB to be an absolute murder machine. This thread's getting weird. We were running goons through Deathwish Rats on the first try. Now I'm in groups in the Mumble where there will be several lvl 50+ players without Transporter or Fast Hands. I'm not picking on Crabtree or any specific player, but we've got a lot of new blood who are getting caught into pub-trap stuff. I really do recommend reading Murdoch's guide on the game, as it's really helpful, and will let you enjoy the game more. Plan Z fucked around with this message at 22:11 on Jun 18, 2014 |

I can echo that Overkill is a great skill. I wasn't really sold on it until I started using it (much like fully loaded aced), but it is a tremendous skill to have, even if all you are bringing to the table is a Loco (with the associated Enforcer Skills) which is used sparingly. There are many times when you need to drop a bunch of dudes, and Basic Overkill + Loco is definitely a great way to do so.

It varies- techforcer is by no means the only option for a DW enforcer build. I personally invest enough points in ghost to get the tier four movement bonus, and enough points in Mastermind to get full medibags. That said, by the time you're seriously facing down the DW maps, you'll have enough spending money on hand to respec depending on the mission-a number of them basically require it.

Some more Big Bank heistin'. Benevolent Bank is now the new cop-killer. We decided to stay and pick all the boxes and at the end we had about 700 total cop kills between us this round: We were actually running low on ammo at the end after Brainamp picked the 2 walls that had lockboxes despite having two enforcers with aced ammo bags. Note that Biscuit with his 230 kills? That's after he had a CTD and had to rejoin the game to play "the living vault door". The rest of us were at about 160-180 cop kills. For obvious reasons we did not stay behind and pick the lockboxes on this vault: As far as we can tell 7 mini-vaults is the most that can spawn, there's either no space or doors spawn on the remaining locations.

Had a Big Bank round earlier where we go pretty close to 1000 kills. I had 93 special kills, RIP Shields. What is this thing in the counting room? Money safe? None of us had safe-picking, and the keys didn't work. Also, it's kinda lovely that the 12-minute achievement depends so much on luck. If your drill breaks more than once, maybe twice, you're poo poo out of luck. e: Actually, that part might not be true. The key is probably to use light/no armor. I'm just mad I can't get my FAL kitted out without having to rely on teamwork-oriented achievements. Dezztroy fucked around with this message at 01:28 on Jun 19, 2014 |

Lemon Curdistan posted:I realise this is probably going to get drowned in title suggestions, but what do people splash to make a decent Death Wish enforcer build? Is the idea to go pure techforcer? In my humble opinion, for DW you have two major variants of the enforcer (with 2 minor changes each). The Masterforcer (with medbags or with ammo); or The Techforcer (with medbags or with ammo) Granted, it's pretty rare for the Masterforcer to have ammo, but here's the main skeleton of the Enforcer tree in both cases (for the sake of what is possible under the system, I'm going to assume some level of infamy): http://goo.gl/PG8E5U Notes: Obvious Modifications include Aced Iron Man/Basic Saw/Ammo Bags. If you're trying to run a low threat build (to prevent drawing aggro with a sniper rifle), you can take the one point in Oppressor and move it into Pumping Iron (I have no idea if this actually works). Also note the 10 points in the Ghost tree. Ideally, you should also incorporate another 8 (or 10 depending on Infamy) to get the increased movement bonus. It's very very handy, even on Death Wish. From there, you decide on whether or not you want to shout at your friends and enemies or blow things up. Masterforcer (with ammo):http://goo.gl/Kat8KT Masterforcer (with Health): http://goo.gl/wsotRW (This is the build that I use) Techforcer (with explosives): http://goo.gl/tLSYQ3 Techforcer (with ammo): http://goo.gl/69QujS Some people prefer cat burglar to cleaner. Regardless, this should be a good start to your career on DW (for the loud missions, anyway). You might be wondering why there's no Aced Iron Man in any of those builds. Due to the Thanatos existing, that skill is less good, and frees up points to spend on other skills. You're going to be hunkering down in a small area for most, if not all of the DW loud maps, so you rely on your sniper to take care of those guys, along with any dozers that spawn. You should be rocking a 38(40 with enforcer bonus) KSP with loco back up, or the Thanatos+Loco if you are the sniper. King Vidiot posted:I tried the new heist late last night, and the only thing I learned about it is that it's a great way to make enemies out of friends. We spent most of our play time arguing and bickering over what assets to get in Pre-Planning, where to place placeable assets, if we even need to pre-plan, and drawing dicks and insults to each other on the map. I don't know what it is about this map, but it's so much worse. My team is always a bunch of angry tards, but this is next level awful. It's difficult. It requires planning no one seems to want to do or is capable of doing in this game. You've got morons flying around the map trying to cover objectives then getting downed when everyone else is huddled in some cubicle or whatever the gently caress. It's gross. I love this map, but I don't think anyone who plays this game is really ready for something of this scale. EDIT: We couldn't even do Rats day 2 on the first try. That's how bad we're talking. Crabtree posted:Well excuse me if I got by just fine with the lower shotgun skills and lived without knowing OVERKILL was so good from the Beta until today, princess! I asked for critique of one of my earlier build months ago and got no response for it. Yeah, and I tried not to come off like a shitlord. Hope I didn't. For Enforcer builds, you're going to want to center things around the locomotive first. That means base Shotgun CQB, base Overkill, and Aced Shotgun Impact. This will let you vomit damage at a solid close-to-medium range. Aced Stun Resistance is a must for pretty much anyone, and Aced Fully Loaded will keep your team from running out of ammo. Aced Die Hard is another great one purely for the armor recovery (which is quite noticeable). For other builds, it's really up for preference. I used a Ghostforcer build when I was running goons through several missions. Stuff like Cat Burglar, Shinobi, and the tier 4 bonus unlock help you move really quickly to get to teammates and objectives. It's also useful for weapon switch speed, increased dodge, and useful stealth skills without having to respec. Masterforcer isn't terribly useful, but it has its perks. It's essentially there to mix your combat skills with things like Aced Kilmer or Aced Inspire. That, or you can just use both trees to be a good match host, and get mission perks. Techforcer is there to suck up shitloads of damage, while tending to drills and blowing up objectives with C4. The headshot damage bonus is a nice addition as well. You can essentially be your team's answer to a bulldozer if you play this right. Plan Z fucked around with this message at 02:22 on Jun 19, 2014 |
