How's 3 relative to the first two games?

3's the best game in the main series.

Gàme 3 is not as good as the first but it's a lot better than the second one.

3 owns except for the last case, which is still good just drags before getting to the really good parts. But just play something else and come back.

Ever since our drop-off service, I never read a book.
There's always something else around, plus I owe the library nineteen bucks.
3 is a strong contender for best in the series, at least not counting the Investigations games (which I haven't gotten around to yet). 1 is good but lacks some of the mechanical refinement 2 and 3 introduce, 2 has a great last case but a not so great everything else, 4 is... rough, and 5 is Pretty Good. Layton vs AA is a lot of fun but like a Layton game it descends into absolute nonsense for the last 1/3 and it's kind of funny and ridiculous but not entirely satisfying.

People have a lot of good things to say about AAI2 but I can't speak for it.

It's more of the same so I suggest, contrary to what others have said, to give yourself a bit of a break.

The third game is the best game in the series and Marlon isn't a racist character. Hope this helps.

I love Trials and Tribulations more than the original, though I have to admit the writing is dumb in some places.

I'm sorry, I must've missed the part where he retrained a parrot and actually got a guilty verdict against Ron. :colbert:

Yeah, AA3 is definitely great and worth playing, but it's hardly very different at all from the first two. If you rush into it straight off another game you'd probably get a bit fed up with it. Best wait until you feel like giving it a go.

I just beat AAI2 and I'm impressed by the localization. It actually felt like an official release from Capcom, right down to some of the hilariously bad jokes. Candy Crush Attack, anyone? Plus, each case actually felt meaty and I found it actually challenging at times.

tl;dr go play AAI2

You may want to wait a bit if you're getting worn out. The game overall is strong, but 3-2 is half drawn out & boring and half irritating. The first couple of times I tried to play 3 in the middle of an AA binge, I always got burnt out there.

uh AAI case 3 ending spoilers, not exactly sure how much i should tag it so i'll just go for all
"Mr. Amano you're going in for questioning!"
"hello i am the villain of the tutorial case, a prosecutor who will not allow Amano to go to justice"
"oh boy i'm glad to see you, prosecutor i clearly know"
"nah that prosecutor can't help, you go to jail now. Okay Edgeworth man can't believe you bit the hand that fed you, you're obviously the prosecutor that works for the smuggling ring and not that dude that conveniently came over to try and protect Mr. Amano."

:psyduck:

Solid case tho, nothing too special or anything but after the first two this is a nice improvement.

Chronologically, case 2 happens first, then case 3, then case 1.

I've always said that the weakest part of AAI is that I'm getting farther away from the ending of the game as I play (due to the flashbacks) until Case 5.
