Read 'em and weep for me. 2x Shadow (duplicates of worst possible draw) 2x Bedile (duplicates of second worst possible draw) 1x Fran (fifth worst possible draw) 1x Clyne (sixth worst possible draw) 1x Galuf (not the worst, but still pretty bad) 2x Shantotto (middling, at least her tm's great) 1x Vaan (thank goodness. Yes, it's normal. You could get away with vaan, shanto, krile + starters if you're sick of rerolling, but if not, you know the drill.

Yeah, this isn't PAD levels of bullshit yet where you'll eventually get blocked off from progressing unless you've collected a task force of only the bravest and finest. You can make it with suboptimal units, it just won't be as ideal as having started with characters you know you won't bench once better ones come along.
