When you own that many motorcycles, how does insurance work? Do you have to get a whole new policy for each bike you want to ride on the road, or are there ways to add another bike to your main policy for a little extra on top given that you can only be riding one at a time?

It's separate policies for each one, but given the age of most of them it's only a couple of hundred bucks a piece for full-comp, and only six of those actually have policies on them (the VTR, Triple, Duke, RS, TRX, and VFR). Here in communist europe we can just get a riders policy. I have a fully comprehensive policy for any motorcycle, regardless of value or displacement, costs me about 550USD a year, although that includes a no claims bonus, was about 8-900USD when I first got it. Oh and it's international, so long as I tell them I'm going away. The down (up?) side of this is that it makes buying extra motorcycles a loving doddle.

That's a dangerous sportbike with plenty of expensive plastics to break and it goes really fast and gets stolen a lot, so it's got really expensive insurance. KTM 690SMC? Single-cylinder, only 65hp, looks a bit like a kid's overgrown toy (dirt bike). Yeah, that'll cost you next to nothing to insure ![]()

Lucky. All I have is a parking spot and a wheelie cart to roll my tools around. (It takes two elevators if I forgot something! Drives me insane!)![]() By the way, that exhaust-lifting adapter won't fit under the bike unless I push it onto the side stand a little bit first. It's the little things that really grind my gears.

My bike I picked up a couple months ago, first bike. Took the MSF course in early October finally, shortly after found a smoking deal on an 05 Ninja 500 with 6k miles, pretty much guaranteed to make my money back and then some so went ahead and got it instead of the 650 I wanted. I am glad I didn't get the 650, I dropped it in the driveway once, gravel driveway+front brake ![]() ![]() ![]()

Yeah that sounds good, it didn't get broken but it did get scuffed up and is a little bent. Looks kinda dopey anyway. PO did fender eliminator and integrated the rear turn signals with the tail light so the rear has been cleaned up nicely. Just wish it still had the centerstand, it was removed when the muzzy exhaust was added. Did pick up a swingarm stand with the L shaped brackets for chain maintenance and whatnot.

EX500 BROS![]() My fourth bike, and a bit of a step down from my last one (07 SV650A) but still a bunch of fun. Purchased barely running and super cheap. Needs tires, and I wish it had ABS, but I'll probably end up getting an ABS Versys in a year or so and make this my track bike or wife bike.

My wife and I have one policy for all 5 bikes; 5 on one coverage card is kind of crowded. I change around the coverage depending on season/which ones are being rode to mitigate premium. Adds up to about $400/year with the Buell eating up about $200 of that. The 175s are an extra $20/year combined. Rules probably vary state to state.

It's a lovely picture, but I put on my newly-green airbox cover last night. I was going to spray the adventure beak at the same time, but one of the torx screws holding it on was stuck too tightly for my itty bitty impact driver, and I didn't feel like playing the multi-elevator shuffle to grab a socket wrench. One can of plasti-dip was enough to do everything there, plus a little bit more. I'm impressed! ![]() I also plugged in the battery tender, seeing as how I probably won't be riding until I get some heated gear sometime next month. It's a 2011 model, but registered in 2013. I'm really happy with it, handles very well compared to the Honda Fury I wrote off. Power is impressive for this kind of bike, the PCV and dyno tuning really made a difference after the exhaust and filter install.
