I'm curious what people think of my team so far. I think I reached with my first pick but overall I think it's going pretty well.

All your picks so far are good players. I agree that Machado was a reach, but I like Masterson a lot (more than Holland, in fact).

Masterson was picked before Holland so how is that relevant?

And I have a feeling I know what Punto is getting referred to. I'm not worried. Holland is a safe reliever choice, and I like his value here in comparison to some of the other late rotation picks being made.

Derek Holland, who went to Seattle 101 picks prior to Masterson.

I admittedly wasn't ready at the start of the draft and had little time to think so I picked Machado in a hurry without thinking about it as much as I wanted to. I was also surprised Masterson fell so far. I've also been making a lot of trades in order to accumulate more picks around each other and try to target what I think are the BPAs.

I found my lineup from when Deadbeat Dad did this a few years ago and good lord what was I thinking back then (I'll post it after the draft concludes).

You can always send someone your picks list and ask them to draft on their behalf.

What do you guys think was best and worst pick value wise so far?

Mine are:

Best Value: Ian Desmond in the 4th
Worst Value: Brian Dozier in the 5th

Alex Avila in Round 3 was weird. Dunno what the best value pick was.

I think Yadi Molina might be the best value. Or at least, it came from somewhere in the first two rounds.

Worst is probably Machado.

I regret that Machado pick. I wish I was a bit more ready at the time and just went for the best pitcher available.

I still think the biggest reach was Kimbrel though.

This is important. OOTP has some really wonky ratings for players that explains why many of us (myself included) drafted relative nobodies much earlier in the draft. Why it considers Hechevarria one of the better shortstops is beyond my knowledge, but Avila is also ranked very highly.

So would anybody want a guy who's been a solid 2.5 WAR second baseman (Ellis) for a few seasons leading up to this season for their next pick? There's a player I want and I don't think he's going to make it to me and I'm kind of regretting I didn't take him instead.
