Someone should make one. It's been a good show. People bring up the "mommy porn" thing to deride it's source material, but they're doing themselves a disfavor by treating it as such.

It's not Game of Thrones and it's not Spartacus, and it's not trying to be either. What it is, is a nice semi-historical time travel tale, with some good acting, drama and humor. As for the sex, there's been eye candy for all types, so while it doesn't shy away from it, it's at least been fair to not make it heavily skewed towards a particular audience. The most recent episode being a good example of that.

Actually Season 4 of Angel and Season 7 of Buffy were in lockstep as one group fought Ultimate Good and other fought Ultimate Evil. Some really clever dialogue choices reinforced that.

Ahem, actually :goonsay:

There was a direct crossover in Buffy's penultimate episode. Angel brought the necklace he received from Wolfram and Hart for reasons I don't remember to Buffy to help in her apocalypse. He is present and helpful before Buffy takes it and then gives him the half baked cookie dough speech. She gave it to Spike, who as a direct result is brought over to Angel the show.

There was another crossover earlier in the season, with Willow getting called to go to LA to help get Angelus his soul back, and she brings Faith back to Sunnydale after who stays on BTVS until the end of the season.

(I've just finished re-watching Season 4 of Angel, it's still mostly great.)

You can split prime shipping with 5 people, you won't get streaming unless you're the primary account though. But it's easy to mooch the shipping.

Wait a sec, I thought the 1st ep it was 'fast aggressive zombies', suddenly its 'slow passive zombies'?

This was not explained. Z-nation just screwed up. If that was the case, there would be at least a few fast ones in a horde of slow ones. Everyone was slow for no reason at all. Z-nation is just terrible, don't listen to greennight, he's an idiot and doesn't understand that this is a bad show.

The problem with Z-nation is that it actually takes itself seriously, despite all the characters being written horribly and largely unmemorable. Can you recall a single character's name? I can't even remember Garth's name, which is I refer to him by his name in Supernatural. If 90% of them died in the next few episodes, I would forget them relatively easily. The dialogue is absolutely terrible, in fact most of it is spent on making stupid quips while killing zombies ("Zom-bie? More like Zom-bye!" *kills zombie*). They spent 20 minutes on Garth trying to kill a zombie dog (how it entered a closed warehouse, I don't know), essentially the most useless side plot I've ever seen. And it's the fuckin' second episode and they're pulling out this poo poo.

What I will give credit for is the excellent make-up they use on the actors and zombies. It's like they hired the contestants of Face-Off to help in this show.

quote:

“This is not that kind of wacky, Saturday night Syfy movie craziness. We’re still having a lot of fun with the idea and there’s humor in it, but it’s not cheesy at all.”
- Schaefer said in a phone interview from Spokane. Source.

The producer literally thinks this is a serious show. Not cheesy? This is 4 cheese pizza cheesy. The end of the last episode was a bunch people shooting guns with cheesy rear end cgi at a zombie baby. This is a stupid show enjoyed by stupid people. I do believe shows can change, but you greennight will never change. GreenNight, you are stupid.

That would not be out of place in this show, being an Asylum production.

But yeah, it's garbage, but it's entertaining garbage and if you expected something other than ridiculous plot, inconsistent everything, and terrible acting and dialog you somehow missed that it's an Asylum production.

Butt first, let's

I quit watching Z Nation five minutes into the second episode (because I'm a weirdo who stops watching shows I don't enjoy) but I definitely remember them mentioning the old "fresh zombies are fast, older zombies are slow because they decomposed" reasoning. Its pretty standard zombie rules. In fact I'd say that the old "fast vs slow" debate has just given way to that "rational" explanation.

Watched the pilot for Madam Secretary. It feels and looks like a 90s movie version of The West Wing. There are walk and talks, and they even borrow some of W.G. Snuffy Walden's musical cues. However, it's more dour and obviously lacks Sorkin's poetry.

My main concern with a show about the State Department is that Americans don't care about foreign policy. Before you say Homeland is about foreign policy, I'd like you to take a second look at that sentence and realize it's absurdly untrue; it seems like Madam Secretary is going down a similar road of internal politics/conspiracy.

I'll stick with it at least until the mid-season break. Tea Leoni was hot to me 16 years ago when I was a teenager watching her in Deep Impact, and she's still hot to me today.

Okay, first real day of the Fall tv season report!

Gotham wasn't as terrible as I thought it would be (I guess they rewrote Alfred's dialog after it leaked) but it wasn't great, either. JPS channeling Eartha Kitt was pretty great, and the actor playing the Penguin did a good job. But overall it didn't really feel like there was too much differentiating it from other procedurals besides the sometimes terrible dialog. Donal Logue did what he could with the script, but all he ultimately achieved was remind me of Terriers. Gotham also gets some points off for the is he/isn't he Joker cameo. All in all, C. I'll tune in next week.

Sleepy Hollow was glorious, piling on the crazy in the way that only it can. That said, it was definitely a "resetting the prices" episode and I'm looking forward to a more involving episode next week. B+

Scorpion: the fact that CBS thinks that encasing the title in an HTML tag is a clever idea demonstrates how much respect the show has for technology. Like Sleepy Hollow, it seeks refuge through audacious fictionalization, but forgot that that particular gambit only works if the characters involved are likeable. D, not sure if I'll even give it a second chance.

And while Gravity Falls didn't return tonight (it came back a few weeks ago) it did have the best episode of its season yet with a "dating sim meets Five Nights At Freddie's" storyline. Why isn't anyone watching this show?
