You can't spell 'vector field' without me, Professor!

$OLDJOB had a Mokka and maybe it was just whatever beans the subscription service sent the office or if the water/grounds ratios were off or something but it was extremely not good

current coffee status: out of hario v60 filters, but i got excited when I found some ancient generic brand ones in the back of the cabinet but drat proper filters really do make a difference

going to buy a drip machine so i dont have to spend 10 minutes aeropressing one (1) cup of coffee every morning.

moka is fine but because of the phase change you're doing a hot, fast extraction without fine temperature control. So it's very easy to get bitter, overextracted beanwater if you don't have the right grind and roast. What you get is closer to espresso than drip or pourover coffee, for better and worse.

If you’re using anything but a moka you might as well be doing this:

as long as you're grinding the beans per cup/daily you're still family

It's a better percolator in that it only passes water through the beans one time whereas an old style perc will keep cycling liquid til you turn it off.

I like rain and cold weather and seattle was great when we took a vacation there a couple years back. unfortunately mrs mindset is solar powered so a move up thataway ain't happening anytime soon.

anyway, I'm drinking some Ethiopia Kossa Geshe from the local coffee coop, it's good as hell. The beans are freakin' huge, each one weighs like 0.3 grams
