They usually don’t happen this early in the season and never for big matches. In recent years they’ve moved derby games earlier for security reasons, but that’s more understandable. It’s just lovely because people have things to do during the day.

I don't like money grubbing modern football so I will continue to singlehandedly kill it via piracy.

I hope this inspires ultras to create awesome protests like legia did that one time

Palermo's first home match in Serie D drew 17.000 people. That's insane and very good.

Good news they got relegated last year :commissar:

Awww gently caress. I move to Australia for Uni and this is what happens. Still got my boy Marco in Atalanta so I guess I’m a split Torino/ Atalanta now.

The Atalanta figures are woah - especially now with UCL, it's surprising that none of the players started clamouring for raises. De Roon earning half what Bennacer makes is insane to me.

It’s pretty nuts how Ronaldo is the only one making anything close to a top end NFL or MLB contract. Are there break downs like this for other leagues?

There's a new saga in town and it is the one of SSC Napoli versus the locker rooms.

San Paolo's locker rooms were being rebuilt/cleaned? one or the other, in time for the next match this weekend. Yesterday, Napoli released a statement by Ancelotti:

https://twitter.com/sscnapoli/status/1171847647768039424

saying he is “Irate for the conditions of the san Paolo locker rooms", i.e. unfinished, dirty, unusable mess.

Replies came from various directors, contractors etc. responsible for the build/cleanup, stating how the end of the work was planned and agreed for friday, and that if anything they're ahead of schedule, and the Napoli VP Edoardo De Laurentiis (ADL's son) recently visited and complimented the staff and firm for the work done.

Today SSC Napoli released a new statement:

https://twitter.com/sscnapoli/status/1172053033943031808

"SSC Napoli denies that VP Edoardo De Laurentiis complimented the staff and firm for the work done".

E: Then they posted a video of the state of the dressing rooms:

https://twitter.com/sscnapoli/status/1172057457792901120

Just amazing.

This is italian_construction_project.mp4. I wonder what ridiculous temporary fixes (that will turn in to permanent fixes) are going to be put in place in time for the game day. You could build a loving battleship in the time they had to do this.

Complete it?

Apparently dressing room-gate has been resolved, and Napoli won't have to host their CL game in Bologna. Those videos must not have been filmed yesterday.

Weird lineup for Fiorentina today - a 3-5-2 with Ribery and Chiesa up front. We'll see. No surprises from Juventus, CR7 Higuain and Costa up there.

I also forgot that Caceres signed for Fiorentina.
