Gravity Falls is sort-of crossing over with Amphibia as Alex Hirsch returns in a season 2 episode which is a homage to Gravity Falls. The episode is titled "Wax Museum".

I'd really like the episode to end with a coded message flashing on the screen, but even without something like that it will be nice to hear Stan and Soos again.

wheres the jester, I could do with some pointless nonsense right about now

On the one hand, I love the animation and how he moves. Incorporating his serpent form and that weird spider head move he does was a good idea.
On the other hand, something about this characterization doesn't feel quite right to me. In the game, he seemed like too big of a deal to go around poking out kids' balloons and stealing candy, you know? Doesn't he have a casino to run?

e: also that fuckin' red-letters-on-black "COME ON GUYS LET'S GET TO 400 SUBSCRIBERS" is like someone socked me right in the eye.

Well it was actually Scarecrow being led by her cell.

Harley: "Hi Professor Crane.
Scarecrow: "Good evening child. WORSHIP ME FOOLS! WORSHIP ME!"

It also finally concludes one of Hanna-Barbera's longest loose ends--they resolve the plot of The Perils of Penelope Pitstop.

Also, to actually answer the question about Shaggy/Scooby and Scarecrow's fear gas, Shaggy is affected like normal (hallucinates monsters like everyone else); Scooby isn't affected because he's a dog. Naturally this could very well be treated differently in different series.

Funny enough Scarecrow is going to be the villain of the newest Scooby Doo movie where they team up with Bill Nye.

Warnermedia is a massive conglomerate and I don't see them being killed by hbo max flopping or allowing cartoon network to die just because hbo max flops.

Yeah the channel is still around (though for some reason it's only available in SD? Might just be my cable package...). Up until a few years ago they showed a lot of the original crop of Cartoon Cartoons like original Powerpuff Girls but then it turned into some weird combination of Looney Tunes, Tom & Jerry, some licensed poo poo from the 80s, and an island of (recent) misfit toys like that Scooby-Doo reboot where they all have creepy eyes.

so i'm almost done with season 2 of TLA. i used to be of the opinion that as great as season 2 was, i liked season 1 better. rewatching it though, i think i change my mind. s1 is still great obviously, but less enjoyable the second time around, whereas season 2, particularly the episodes post-entering ba-sing-se are more enjoyable for me this time around.

i do have a question, though. the dai-lee seem to have metal gloves that they use to both attack and subdue people with. but that can't be right, since toph was the first metal bender, wasn't she? i mean, that was the whole big deal about her escaping that big metal casing she was trapped in, right?

Ah, I had heard there was also some unpleasantness that came out regarding one of the creators (which is part of the reason why Dragon Prince’s future seems questionable at the moment) and wasn’t sure if he was involved in the ATLA remake as well.

Aaron's got no involvement whatsoever with the ATLA remake; though after what he did, I don't want him anywhere near it. COVID's done hosed a lot of things and that project got put on hold for it too.

Tig N' Seek on HBO Max is super cute and worth a look if you don't mind cartoons that are unapologetically for kids. It's decently animated and has some really good gags and some fun character work utilizing what feels like a semi-improvised acting style.

Semi-related HBO Max really needs to make it easier to tell what animation is for adults/kids. The age rating doesn't show up unless you've already started an episode so I wasn't at all sure what I was getting into until I actually watched the drat thing.

Ask me about the shitty opinions I have about Paradox games!
They've announced four more series of Dragon Prince, so it'll be up to 7.
I liked the show but series 3 was kinda rushed - it felt a bit like Babylon 5's fourth season where they're desperately cramming because they're certain they're going to be cancelled.
