I look forward to Condit's Bellator debut against *rolls dice* Neiman Gracie after getting wrestlefucked for 15 minutes by Mcgee.

I like Condit, but dude needs to retire. The game done changed.

I can't remember a worse card on paper in UFC history than tonight's without the co-main. I'm double-checking the classic "bad card" examples; Dillashaw/Soto, the 8-fight card from last month, Evans/Silva all had more name recognition on the undercard.

I will, of course, watch anyway

Yeah not much in the way of name recognition, it's good though lots of people out to make a splash.

Bad cards are ones where we know a bunch of fighters and know that they're boring, this card will probably be great, small cage etc.

That aside, that poster says 10 PM EST and the UFC card starts in 30 minutes (6:30 EST) so there's not gonna be much overlap unless you specifically wanna miss Munhoz vs Edgar to watch...that.

Frankie Edgar's career continuing makes me sad and that's not how I want to feel about my former favorite fighter.

Also Dana White is giving a speech at the RNC, because gently caress everyone, that's why.

Watch fight circus right now. They just did a 2v1, it ended in a sub. They then asked the fighters to do it again and they literally fought again.

I, and others, felt Munhoz looked better and did more to win the fight. There were a few exchanges were Frankie threw some combo fairly sloppily and didn't land which made me laugh. Munhoz though, iirc, looked for more power shots and threw less and that ultimately probably was why he lost.

There's rumors of Ferguson/Poirier, which is exciting, but I don't think it's a good matchup for Tony. He's gonna get outboxed again and maybe retire. Gimme Tony/Chandler

Ferguson/Poirier I think is on the books, if not announced yet. They're going to need lynchpin fights for cards in Abu Dhabi later this year.

Also, don't get your hopes up for Chandler coming to the UFC, he does this every time to make Coker think he's testing free agency and then signs again with Bellator for more money.

Yan came up through ACB (now ACA) with 1 split decision loss to Magomed Magomedov that he avenged, and he had 5 wins in UFC before fighting Faber, including 2 on PPV cards.

Algeo came up through CFFC and Ring of Combat (New Jersy/Philly regionals) and has 4 losses, including most recently in the contender series to some other guy who didn't even get a contract off his win.

So yeah, I'm saying Lamas is gonna crush him with ease, despite being 38 years old.

I thought, based on his record as a regional level can crusher, that Andre Ewell was being brought in to give Renan Barao an easy win

Granted, Ewell hasn't looked that great against other dudes, so that's more a statement of how utterly washed Barao is, but sometimes a z-league dude has a trick or two up their sleeves

How was the card over the weekend? I ended up missing it due to other plans, but I looked at the lineup, and with the OSP fight off, I've heard of like... three of the fighters.

Worth going back and watching the whole thing? Any must-see fights?

The whole thing was pretty much great, yeah, only 3 fights went to decision so the pacing was a little hosed up towards the end but if you're just skipping to each fight that shouldn't matter at all.

The very first prelim had one of the greatest comebacks I've ever seen and is a hell of an underdog story, as well. The rest of the card continued on the back of that and was solid as gently caress.
