south america is not loving around or letting themselves get colonized again and they went commie iirc, and africa had enough of the bullshit and the central african union is absolutely dominant in space tech and they have a spaceport near Kilimanjaro. Also a lot of astronauts and pilots are african now because of this.

No. Absolutely not. They are a megalithic evil corporation, it would be weirder for Araska to personally do something to you, the ant that is beneath their gaze. Do you see how the game would have to twist itself into knots to make you significant enough for Arasaka to take a personal interest in making you miserable? You seem to think this should be presented like a Fantasy RPG where you are the chosen one and everyone knows it and you are after the big bad evil emperor or whatever. But you're not a chosen one, your some Gonk who put a chip in her head.

I mean, they do put a hit out on you. That's as personal as a corp is going to get with an edgerunner - both because edgerunners are a necessity in the world they've created, and because they aren't really dangerous enough. I mean, the whole reason Johnny is after them is because of what they did to Alt, and they did that to Alt because she wouldn't make the program they wanted, and they still did it to her specifically because she's the only programmer who knows how it works. It would be much weirder for them to have Araska be constantly stepping on V, because she's inconsequential to them. They only want the chip, and Takemura is getting that for them.

I know that Takemura doesn't present that he's using you to get back in with his corporate overlords, but he is.

It's both realistic in that Arasaka has no real reason to make it personal beyond just sending a kill team, and painfully realistic that people are easily desensitized to and willing to rationalize away horrific evil if it doesn't directly affect them. Or even if their standards for what is an evil "worth" their attention have been so skewed by that desensitization that they see evidence of it and don't care.

A lot of people were willing to shrug and literally sell themselves into slavery as company property, a human being owned by other humans because they were so apathetic to the evils that Arasaka commits on a daily basis that they're actually surprised to hear someone outside if the game point out, hey, Arasaka is actually turbo-hitler. And so a chance at survival as an eternal slave to a fascist immortal godking might sound better than living free for six months and either becoming a legend or appreciating their time with the people who love and care about them might not sound like that big of an ask, especially if they didn't pay enough attention to know they were throwing their lot in with Imperial Japan's last surviving monster.

That and or they hosed up or rushed the main story and don't realize there were better options.

I'm at the point where there aren't many important decisions left before the ending, and kinda burnt by how my Hotline V is missing out on Legendary Sandevistan / Berzerk and Rare Kerenzikov because I dumped points into Tech to save a handful of legendary crit mods. I also did a bunch of good quests late and don't get to enjoy the results as much. It might be time to restart at the 90% mark because Street Kid never did it for me and I want to try Corp.

How does everyone deal with 30% CHD / 15% CHC mods vanishing when they break down clothes? I was considering having one piece of legendary gear I could cram them all into and just drat the armour rating, because my alternative is using a save editor to give me 16 Tech and a few perk points.

You could use CheatEngine to set your Tech attribute to 18, get all the crafting perks, and then set Tech back to 3.

Does that set any kind of ticking timebomb that will bite me at later levels? I was going to do exactly this with the save editor from Nexus, but knowing this game the total number of perk points ever held is stored in a signed byte that will overflow into memory that governs my character's junk.

Just use the console and set Tech to 18 and leave it there. You don't have to spend perk points in it. (outside of the base crafting ones)

Also went to rescue Saul, found the storm drain, went in that way and the game wouldn't register that I was in and standing beside Saul until I went up out of the cellars as far as the top of some stairs in the main building. Then it let me give Saul the wake up drug, but wouldn't register that we were exiting via the storm drain until I turned around and led Saul up the same stairs and back down. Then the game accepted we were sneaking out without killing anyone. It really wants you to do that poo poo the one particular way.

I ran into that issue, reloaded to just before, entered the side with 1 guard and 4 electric tower things which counted me as having entered the premises, then snuck in the way you described which even had a "I may have found an alternate way in". I suspect the trigger for entering the compound isn't set right and needs to be extended to the drain.

I checked https://wiki.cybermods.net/cyber-engine-tweaks/ and you can now use the function Game.SetAtt("TechnicalAbility", 20) and then Game.GiveDevPoints("Primary", X) to get X number of perk points. Then use the first one again to reset Tech.

I assume you have Cyber Engine Tweaks - https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/107

I just meant I don't know why you'd reset it. Seems a bit much to avoid potentially getting more perk points when you're already cheating in stuff.

Yeah but in a later quest he gets got because he's a gonk. Very satisfying.

Also anyone using Cyber Engine tweaks you don't need to use the console. Get CET and this too: https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/818

Open the console to enable mouse use, then press END to bring up this neat lil' utility. You can change attributes, add materials, etc.

i like that one of the central themes of the game is everyone seems to be morons who get into poo poo over their head and think there lovely plans will work or that their lives actually mean dick to anyone higher than them. street kid and corpo intros show that them off as does nomad to some degree.

like with corpo. jenkins is a gently caress up who is clearly desperate but treats his dumb desperate actions, like killing half the EU space council and his really obvious coup against abernanthy as some calculated scheme but its more than he is a dumb moron whos was really really obvious with his designs and etc.

When you're about to loot a perk shard from a container or a body there's an additional option available that lets you 'read' it instead of picking it up. When you read it you get 2 free perk points per shard instead of 1.

Wasn't his whole plan for the parade or whatever literally going in to talk to whatever girl it was so that she could make everything right, peacefully take the chip from you and give him his job back?

I just assumed that Smasher's "fuckable piece of meat" line was just him being a 'borged out psychopath, maybe hoping that'd she'd get pissed enough to enter Target Status. (Is Yorinobu really going to do anything if his pet Terminator juliennes her?)

As for sex, you may as well just mount a dildo on a Sawzall; I'd fully expect him to have his brain's pleasure center hotwired to a lifesigns monitor - flatline someone, get a jolt.

In actual gameplay, I wandered out to a certain palatial estate and hopped up on the gatepost to throw some cyberpsychosis at those inside. Worked fine, ended up I picked someone with monowire. :ese: A few more like that, including a sniper, and I could loot the place bare...got the named pistol at a good level, but a whole lot of pickup and looted-from-corpses weapons were gorbage-level commons, so hopeful when I (legit) have to go there, the guns will be more worthwhile.

Obviously I'm back running a deck, but I do have the little "time slows when spotted" dingus, which works with Cold Blood almost as well as the Sandivistan - run up with the sword out, idiots notice and bullet time kicks in, Wolverine the gently caress out of 'em, time comes back to normal.

Threw a Suicide at a robot for grins, and it did go ahead and headshot itself... and "died", goddamnit I removed the heads entirely from a couple at Serial; Suicides, and they had no problem keeping on fighting.
