Can I get a summary of what the gently caress happened with that boat? Did it blast into the canal at like 70 mph and run half its length aground or something? How is it so firmly wedged into there that they can't just push/pull it back into the water?

Officially, strong winds plus power failure at a bad time made it drift into the side of the canal and ram itself aground, enough of the bow is stuck on land that they can't get it moving again. Unofficially lol who tf knows, it's pretty common practice for big ships like that to just not let the crew sleep for days on end when doing a canal/straits transit because the normal hour restrictions are lifted around those, and then maybe the canal pilot was drunk/high/sleep deprived too. Everyone involved was whisked away before the press could get to them and now we only have the party line.

ships losing the plant isn’t entirely uncommon during maneuvering too. I was on a ship that lost the plant under the Golden Gate Bridge as a cadet. most of the time they get it back up. honestly that it doesn’t happen more is more surprising.

That's a temporary problem though, not an event that turns something they produce by the tens of millions every year into appreciating investments.

there is way too much private debt for there to be any kind of inflation, stag or not. If rates spike at all we will have deflation

Can't wait for acrual inflation when my wages absolutely will not keep pace. Not that they have for the last decade anyway. Love to year on year see my disposable income get smaller and smaller despite 2% raises a year lol. Extra funny when I tell my boss my 'raise' doesn't even keep up with how much my property taxes go up and he simply says it's not true.

just like the 1920’s and japan in the 1980’s, the “growth” today is just a debt fueled binge. We are going to have a massive amount of deflation.
