Have any of you taken Lyrica. My doctor has given it to me for the shingles pain but it's doing nothing so far.

I didn't, but mr bee did for about nine months when he had his foot amputated because apparently Lyrica is good for neurological pain. It's hard to say when it started working for him or to what extent it helped as he was on iv ketamine for four days post surgery, and then on other opiate painkillers after that for the next few weeks. But his symptoms were managed well after that point in time. One thing I will say is that it completely hosed with his short term memory, he would repeatedly tell me things with no recollection of having the same conversations just minutes or hours prior. He would get confused easily and forget why he'd entered a room. It also seemed to make him very irritable, which I'd expect would be reasonable after having a limb removed, but this got worse the longer he was on it for.
