GilliamYaeger posted:I said I'd bring this card up again later, and that later is now because here we have the card I wanted to compare it to. And the verdict? There is literally no reason to ever use this card over Sparking Spear. Sparking's rolls are better than Eject, and I'd much rather have page draw than a mediocre defensive die tacked onto the end. I'd actually disagree with this. Sparking Spear is definitely better than Eject because of that draw, but the rolls aren't really better? With the enemy's Power going down in a clash, Eject becomes essentially 5-7, 5-7, compared with Sparking Spear's 4-8, 4-8. Just a choice of whether you'd rather have a higher minimum or a higher maximum. Also, that block die means taking 2-4 less damage/stagger, so while it isn't as useful as the card draw, still useful. In conclusion, Eject worse than Sparking Spear, but you still have reasons to use it. Say... Two Refine Weapons, three Sparking Spears, 2-3 light restoration cards, and 1-2 Ejects?

Philip's protagonism has developed an edgy eleventh hour power-up, Generic Epic Trailer Music™, and a Deus Ex Machina escape from the villains who killed all the most important people in his life (engineered by a sort of mentor figure, to boot) Yep, I'm afraid the case is looking to be terminal.

He even has the FFVII rip-off single wing. Not to be confused with our eventual Assistant Librarian Sephiroth. Now comes the arc where he learns to control this new dark power within him, possibly involving facing the darkness within himself/the opposite colour version of himself that is a representation of his power to master it. Hey, he could even somehow end up on the W-Train so that he can get years of training in before coming back out.

At the very opening, he refers to needing to trust "The Purple Tear," so he knows people of much higher rank than anyone we've encountered in the Library thus far.

The fight with Phillip shown here is essentially a big warning lesson. Phillip’s the first one that ever punished you just from hitting him, and it’s an abject lesson to miss it and set yourself on fire as a result.

So, I checked and next Floors order, judging by the most populat order of Sephirot, would be Gebura — Chesed — Binah — Hokma. In Dewey decimal system unclaimed classes are: Philosophy and psychology; Religion; Social sciences; Language. Order of them does not matter, since it was already reshuffled for Lower Floors. And I cannot fit Gebura (our supposed next floor) into any of those. To figure things out I decided to ask Gebura for small presentation on topic of each class. What she chose: Language: The universal language of violence. Includes live demonstration of discussed principles. Social sciences: Is it acceptable to taunt your opponent with their severed limb? Guest speakers: Binah, Moses, Vespa. Religion: How blind devotion can trap you and everyone around you in ten millenia of repeating suffering. Philosophy and psychology: People die when they are killed, ergo, Abnormalities are not people. Problem of PTSD after suppressing humanoid Abnormalities.

EGO Philip is quite easy if you know what you're doing. First two turn, focus more on deflecting him and hold your attack. On turn 3, go all out attack. He'll stagger eventually and the 2nd all out attack will finish him.

Yeah, my fight with him went better than Love Town's since I just brute forced it, and had everyone ganging up on him till hes staggered and finished him off. Love Town had one floor wiped but cleaned up since Tomerry was at deaths door.

You know I still love how the City has a perfect mix of names from all kinds of cultures-native Korean (Mang-Chi, Gyeong-Mi, Jae-Heon), Chinese (Liwei, Yang), Japanese (Naoki, Sayo, Gin), 'Western' (too many to name), stuff that could be from multiple languages (Yuna, Yan, San), stuff from mythology (Mars, Pluto) and then stuff that's straight-up nonsense (Consta, Rain, Alloc and Dalloc). And of course, giving names with no regard to character gender is also great.

Appendix 16: Wedge OfficeOscar’s Page posted:The 8 o’Clock Circus was a real sod of a case. Its leader wasn’t a particularly powerful enemy, but it took a long time to assess the strengths and behavior of each of his "crew". There was no specific pattern to it, and it was difficult to predict what would come next; it was akin to watching an erratic circus of lunacy. Their lair was mysterious and terrifyingly bleak, and the crew took hideous forms as well, looking too grotesque to possibly be considered normal living beings. They were as strong as they looked; when the blob shaped like a lion bit Pameli with its blunt teeth, her body quite literally blew up on the spot. Pameli’s Page posted:Life insurance for Fixers is often a sham. A lot of them take your money never to give it back; even if you terminate your insurance, they won’t. It’s not easy for your damage to be insured, either. You have to be at death’s door to qualify, pretty much? The chances are as low as winning the lottery. And what if you just up and died? What can the dead do with money? You’ll be much better off making a savings account for an augment procedure or quality workshop gear. I was a very lucky case; keep in mind that this isn’t the norm at all. Insurance can sometimes be useful depending on its form and conditions, sure… But if you take the pay into account, it still doesn’t feel too great. Pamela’s Page posted:Basically speaking, people who visit our Office are looking for shrewd and precise situational assessment rather than combat prowess. The ability to make quick calculations for various possible scenarios and neutralize or kill the enemy with the least effort. We are hunters of the City. We Wedge pierce the requests we get with swiftness and precision. I'll also be adding a new feature today, in which forums user MiiNiPaa explains to us how the Shimmering AI works for any boss fights we see that have them. I've dubbed it… MiiNiPaa's Shimmering Corner Phillip internals: 230028 Once again, Burning Passion and Unstable Shell of Ego do nothing and Shimmering does everything. Unlike Tomerry, it also has total control of the number of speed dice. C — Consistency. As with Tomerry, background and music change is done by gifting bonus emotion coins to the enemy side. Ego Phillip starts combat in Feather Shield mode, which reduces incoming damage (not stagger) by 5 and deals 2 burn to attacker. In this mode, he will use 2x Feather Shield (D3-7,D3-7,S2-4) and one Rueful Eventide (E2-5,D4-6,S2-5). Both of those have powerful block dice, which, together with -5 damage, make actually dealing any damage VERY difficult. This pattern will be active for 2 scenes. On 3rd turn Phillip will switch to the Searing Sword mode. He will start to inflict 4 burn on hit and will use 2x Searing Sword (S3-7,P3-7) and one Fierce Charge (S4-10). A lot less dice total and lack of protection makes it the prime time for staggering him. Because this pattern lasts only for one scene and what follows is... Blazing Strike mode. He gets another 2 speed dice. Phillip will use them to attack with 4x Searing Sword and one Blazing Strike (B30-40+3Burn). This kills the nugget. Your only chance to survive this is to either kill Phillip beforehand (preferred strategy), or have higher speed than him, and stagger him before he had chance to use BS, cancelling it. You can also redirect attack to the librarian, who will die anyway, but this is unsportsmanslike. Lasts for once scene and after that pattern starts again with Feather Shield mode. If Phillip starts scene staggered, no mode buffs will be applied (no damage reduction and burn on hit, if he is staggered in Feather Shield mode), and pattern will not progress. This means that you cannot skip phase by staggering Phillip (unlike Tomerry, where it was intended mechanic), only delay it (Blazing strike counter will accurately reflect that). As with Tomerry, if Phillip gains speed dice by gaining Emotion Level 4, it will be left unused, since he will not be given enough cards to utilize it.
