In the end Gumroad, Tumblr, et al do the number crunching and cost:benefit and all that poo poo, and they seem to decide that, nah, the porn ain't worth it. Whether you like that, or don't care, or whatever else, they are a business, and I have been informed we live in somewhat of a society, so it doesn't surprise me they pick the option that will either make or save them money. Or at least lose less money. I also don't know if that means that NSFW artists etc are actually a consistently negligible demographic for these services or if it was a decision they had no choice in. I suspect that the only "secure" platform for artists who do this kind of work is probably going to be on platforms for this sort of work exclusively, otherwise this is gonna probably keep happening over and over. Whether they'll make that platform, I don't know. Jumping from tumblr to twitter to gumroad to deviantart, on and on is kicking the can down the road at this point it seems.

In a few years AI porn is gonna be just as good as the normal porn or better so that's all anyone is gonna look at and then the fundies won't be able to disingenuously lean on the child trafficking argument so they'll have to come up with something new, probably gonna be some horseshit like "ohh but it might have been trained using trafficking victims" I can't wait tbh

Sure seems like a rock solid policy totally not written by puritanical ghouls who want to abuse the legal system to blackmail payment processors to enforce their own sexually repressed attitudes between other consenting adults. Or at least lose less money. The practice here against porn is tried-and-true: deplatforming works. The issue is that you're supposed to deplatform the bad things only. Consensual sex work among adults is fine, but they get caught up with the ne'er-do-wells, CSAM and other such obvious things deserving the removals. By constantly shifting decent and above-the-board sex work into more and more sketchy arrangements, they essentially attempt to drive the whole industry in that direction. Personally, I'd be curious to see what content gets the most chargebacks.

Zone We banned DPPH along with the other torrent subs because of Paypal or whatever, it was back in 2004 or 05. It was also because we had people joining just to access those forums and they'd gently caress up everything else or post tech support threads in GBS. DPPH also has much drama which is why we had a No Homegrown rule. Likely doxxing too so it was easier to just ban it. There was an site spin-off that did just porn but it also had to ban homegrown for the same reasons. So really Lowtax just banned the drama but also anime porn and yadda yadda yadda, Trump becomes the 45th president of the US.

I just think my friend who takes pictures of herself as various anime, comic, movie and video game characters, sometimes in states of undress, should be able to sell pictures of herself on a legitimate website without issue and without being accused of corrupting youth and without having her accounts locked.

Dozens of models for the life drawing classes you mentioned, or dozens of porn models? Life drawing classes getting hit by a policy banning porn is bad, I agree, and I'd agree that that would show that the policy was actually a cover for purging the site out of puritan motives or at the behest of right-winger pressure groups. If it's porn models getting banned, I mean, that strikes me as an intended effect of the policy, and that policy could have been undertaken for good reasons
