Another solid reason for CIG to allow the grey market to exist could well be the inability to claim refunds on gifted items that are no longer in the account. Every time a package is traded, it becomes non refundable.
Of course, you can't return a gift after the gifting changes, so you can't even send it back so the original purchaser can claim a refund. Fascinating.

It's true that you can't spend $5 on an account and then get a $100 package refunded on that account (max refundable would be $5). But the whole thing about gifting ships not being refundable (assuming the receiving account has equal to or more spent) isn't written down anyway. So I don't think even the people that believe their TOS is some kind of magic get out of normal consumer protection laws free thing, can defend that. They just started suddenly writing it down in emails and expect people to agree to it.

If you've melted one bought package and melt one gifted one, they both turn into store credit, if you buy a new ship is it gifted credits or bought credits? They sell gift cards that work exactly the same way, the whole thing is daft. Whatever you've spent on the account you should be able to get back unless you've currently got less on your account due to gifting it away.

If the original purchaser wants to reclaim a gifted item and the account holder agrees, I also think they are on dodgy ground not doing it, as the only reason not to do it would be to prevent a refund.

Hey this looks awesome, thanks for the tip. Backed for tactical PvP goodness.

They're sure to hit stage 4 (2.5m) as the campaign month is less than half over and they're already at 1.8mil.

And unlike Star Citizen, Harebrained will actually stop adding features once they hit their stretch goals, and use any additional money to helping improve the stuff they've already got.

I was only tangentially aware of the mechwarrior universe. Dune with giant robots sounds pretty rad though. And if their story mode has writing as good as their shadowrun games then it'll be kick rear end.

I mean, there's an arena dogfighter but honestly it's not worth the wait for the gigantic loving download. Come to think of it, given the content of the game, it's loving bullshit how big a download it is.

Check out Mechwarrior 3/4 or Mechcommander 2 if you want something in the same universe that you can play now and be an actual game that exists.

But what other business would you even THINK about giving money to, if their board of directors was basically a police line-up of people past associated with corporate fraud and embezzlement ?

Why CIG get's away with it because they pretend to make video games blows my mind

The truth is stranger than fiction, really. It just becomes a painfully obvious metaphor for what Star Citizen has become.

A lot of people would be given pause and ask for reassurances that they were ignorant of wrongdoing.
