Taking that author at face value for the sake of the argument, I'd actually understand where he's coming from. Giving policy making powers to an entitity which is not democratically legitimized by the people that have to follow said policies would indeed be troubling. Fortunately, he appears to just make stuff up to get angry if Kit Walker's link is any indication.

How about editorial cartoons from a MAD Magazine cartoonist who is, you know, talented? More Antonio "I loving Hate Castro" Prohias cartoons! I'll try to translate the captions using Google Translate, but feel free to make better translations if you know Spanish. Title: "Time Bomb" Hambre = Hunger Title: Bear and Organ Title: Today's Sayings Panel 1: Friend to all, Friend of none Panel 2: There is no evil that lasts a hundred years and no "body" that resists Dier = Animal Panel 3: Dead to the hole, and alive is the "chicken" Wiki article on José Antonio Echeverría Panel 4 Tell me what you brag about and I'll tell you what you lack (anyone know who that guy is supposed to be?) Panel 5 Two that are wanted, one who eats enough Milicias = Militias Title: Saying Thinks one thing and another drunk winemaker Title: Lost Saying The bread that dog outside, bread loses and loses the dog I know very little of Cuban history around this time, so hopefully there are people here who are well-versed in that subject.

A few improved translations: The bread one is He who gives bread to The vodka one: The drunk thinks one thing, the drink-maker another. Speaking of talented + spanish-speaking, has Quino been discussed in earlier versions of this thread? I saw this one a long time ago and can't find a good (higher-res) version anywhere. Cuomo did phrase what he said kind of tactlessly, but here we have yet another thing where the right-wing media stripped something of all context and are running with their made-up version of it. "New York is a decidedly blue state, and while we've had great success working with moderate Republicans, extreme far-right Republicans who come are are pretty much wasting their time because New Yorkers aren't buying what they're selling" somehow turned into "Time to start the anti-conservative apartheid in New York!!!!"
