Not sure if I was because I liked annoying people with it, or because I was really selfish and wanted the entire universe to exist to serve me. i like solipsism! its a great answer to many tough philosophical problems as a teenager i performed several wiccian rituals to invoke various made up deities. yes, it was because of a girl. i learned two valuable lessons from that experiance

I'm dumb so I never had a philosophy during my teenage years, aside from an awareness that all my peers suddenly turned into jingoistic assholes. Also I was, oddly enough, against the hedonism that defines American youth culture. Now I drink heavily and would probably be willing to do drugs if I weren't drug tested.

I was a determinist and used it as an excuse to wallow around in self pity and not make any positive changes in my life. While I still recognize that my free will may be an illusion, my life has improved substantially since I chose to act as though it is not.

By the end of middle school I had a different pair of Jnco jorts for every day of the week and exclusively wore korn+limp bizkit tshirts that were way too big for me. That's about as deep as my "philosophy" went back then - thinking looking like an absolute idiot was cool. I stopped when the friends that got me into that switched to being skinheads/neo-nazis when highschool started and I realized I was hanging out with assholes.

I did finish that motherfucker (yes, including the whole speech) but in the years since, the lesson I learned has saved me a great deal of time. Also it has helped me enjoy certain satires and parodies which I otherwise wouldn't have understood.

I'm British and I really hated the monarchy when I was like 14. I decided that there could be no true equality in a country with a hereditary monarch. While I still agree with that in principle, nowadays I trust the royals much more than any of the democratically elected politicians. I also drew that anarchy A symbol on everything

THUS SPAKE ZARATHUSTRA was so my bible. What teenager couldn't relate to "life is a well of delights, but where the rabble drink, all wells are poisoned"? Also got into poetry from reading an excerpt from Lord Byron in the Vampire: the Masquerade book. Then I got into punk and the whole distrust authority and the mainstream ethos has stuck with me. I still write poetry and like literature and stuff.
