I have had my eye on D.J. Wilson on the Bucks, but I’m not sure how he would actually fit on the Kings. I think he deserves some court time and he’s just not going to get it on the Bucks. Throw in that Pacers pick and maybe we can squeeze DiVincenzo out too.

I really like Bogdan though and would rather they just keep him. How about Dedmon Bogdan and Corey Joseph for Horford

OK, that sounds like "real stuff" to me. I'd do something like Dedmon + Bogdan for Biyombo, the Cavs 2020 second-rounder and the Celtics 2020 second-rounder but I guess the market for any halfway decent wing is way higher than I thought

They're giving up lots of good looks and getting pretty lucky that they're going in at a lower than expected rate iirc. It's still a very tiny sample

I fuckin love his monster blocks, op. It's a small sample size but he's got a respectable mbpg, which is arguably the best metric for defensive performance. Right up there with sneaky steals per game.

In Kyrie's 54 point game he had a TS% of 98.5%. The previous high for a 50+ point game was 93.0% by Dana Barros on 3/14/1995.

I watched the highlights and it's really elite. Kyrie only had one or two easy buckets the whole night. The Bulls aren't a great D team but they're not awful either. I think the only time someone has scored 46+ points on a higher TS% was Gilbert Arenas on 2/25/2006 with 46 points and a TS% of 103.7%.

Poque posted:

Have any of the Kobe highlight reels included him hitting Bibby in the face and Bibby getting called for the foul?

Never forget Kobe's defense on Rose on 12/10/10:

Kobe was not called for a foul here...

are all points created equal? And is there a way to find out if a player is primarily scoring against less competitive opponents as a result of the score/context? Or does it even matter because over the course of the season it equals out assuming they have a highusage?

A good rule of thumb is to look at game logs in at least segments of twenty games near the beginning of the season.

A five or ten game stretch doesn't mean much at all. But twenty games is nearly a full quarter of the season and is somewhat significant.

BWV posted:

I just think about how the Raptors have had a stretch against some bad teams and it's clear that they don't try as hard and that they often let their bench guys play longer minutes once they go up 15+. Are the points scored against greener defenders like Chris Boucher and Terrance Davis (who admittedly, are still future hall of famers) really equal in demonstrating a player's value as the points scored against Gasol and Lowry?

if we just use points scored and efficiency, is a player who scores 27ppg on 50% always better than a guy who scores 24ppg on 47% shooting (assume equal usage) or is there a way to find out if the context of those numbers give one player an easier time?

No and no.

I kinda feel like the top of the east is gonna be like one of those Cavs years where all year I try to convince myself that "yeah teams that aren't the Bucks got a chance!!" and then we get a 4-0 or 5-1 non-competitve conference finals like the Atlanta "they're so good they got four all stars" year.

On the plus side, I think it's gonna be a lot more fun watching the Raptors go through that with Nurse at the helm than Casey and they're already overachieving so let's go bitch

The Bucks currently have three guys in the top ten of WS/48 this year. That translates to: :rip: other east teams.
