I'll try to find some articles later but lemme draw you a basic picture of Dutch politics atm:

The thing with Dutch politics is that gay marriage is not a discussion any more politically, there are 1-2 parties still officially opposed but they don't bring it up, Trans rights are not bad but due to to the last decades being dominated by status-quo policies it's starting to fall behind if that makes sense. Dutch people (used to) pride themselves on being progressive and tolerant, note that tolerant doesn't automatically imply acceptance.
So because LGBT rights are (on the surface) good and accepted, they can use this against more progressive parties. "Oh we like any normal person like gay people, but the drat lefties wanna bring in more muslims that hate gay people; drat hypocrites!" and stuff like that.

Now the actual public acceptance and outlook on the community is getting, not so much worse but it's becoming clear that some people only said to be fine with it cause that was the majority opinion. Same idea with nationalism basically, they are coming out of the woodwork. Everybody on the right believes the left ruined everything, being charitable to what can be considered balanced we last had such a government in 2002, an actual left wing one is at least going back to the 70's. Ironically back during the time immigrants from mostly Morocco and Turkey where being asked to come work (the lovely) jobs, it was the left leaning parties worried about nothing being done to help these people integrate. They where meant to basically come over, work their best years, send some money home, and then fuckoff.

There is a lot more to it, but the left is just as much of a scapegoat in my country, just for different reasons.

More how countries vote, this is for a non FPTP system:

In The Netherlands we all get mailed a voting card, this is a personal one. You can authorize somebody else to vote in your place if you want. You can use this voting card in any polling station in your municipality, if you want to vote elsewhere (due to say work and/or commutes) you can apply for that. When you vote the validity of your voting card gets checked, and you have to ID yourself. Then you get the giantass bedsheet sized paper listing way too many people for each party and like 99% of the people you just pick the lead candidate for whichever party you chose. Ballot goes in a sealed bin till counting time. If the amount of collected voter cards doesn't match the amount of ballots after counting them all the polling place goes on lockdown till the issue is solved.

There are 2 aspects to Rowling being p lovely:
1: She tries to retroactively insert progressive things into her writing when society changes. Black Hermione is a good example, she could have just supported the casting of the black actress for the play and be like "yeah Hermione could have been black, it didnt matter for the plot anyway; cool" but she doubled down on her being black all along a couple times. Same with the low amount of diversity in the books in general, instead of basically going "sorry my bad, but you can headcanon people however you like" she keeps picking some obscure character and Haha! This character was <X> all along. The super awkward weird retconning and.. choices... for roles in the Fantastic Beasts movies don't help either.

2: Her politics basically come across as a now-wealthy person turning poo poo, with having memories of being poor being the only thing holding her back into going full on FYGM. She is a Blairite labour supporter and anything actually leftists seems to upset her. Also she keeps retweeting transphobic poo poo.
